Reception staff rude, aggressive and totally unhelpful. Being the face of the surgery these are qualities that totally undermine the experience from the very outset. It’s a shame that such sour faced individuals stay in employment.

I phoned 3 times today to order medicine and every time I’ve got to 1st In the que I got the phone put down on me and I phone again and the receptionist refused to let me order more medicine I needed and cAme up with every excuse why she didn’t want to help me

Dear patient. I am so sorry you had trouble with our telephone system. Unfortunately my receptionist was not trying to be unhelpful but we are unable to take orders for repeat prescriptions over the telephone due to the danger of mis-prescribing and the need for an audit trail of all medication requests. For the future we have an online repeat prescribing system or you can bring/send your request in writing.

I have been with this practice for many years and can honestly say that you are always welcomed with a cheery smile and good service. When my children were young, it was always possible to get a 'same day' appointment. One small area is being unable to book a particular GP for example, with a health condition that needs addressing, yet not urgent, within a week, having to ring at 8.30 to see if they have any appointments 'on the day', so if it's not urgent, I wouldn't want to take an appointment that would be urgent for someone else - if that makes sense! All in all, I am extremely happy with Wey Family Practice and thank you to all the dedicated staff who work there.

Unfortunately my experience with this practice is not a positive one. Firstly they lost the paperwork from my registration and so I had to re-do it. I almost never go to the doctor (only once since I've been living in this area). The receptionists are nothing short of rude and dismissive. The telephone is almost never answered and so it's almost impossible to get an appointment other than by going there in person. The one appointment I have had with the GP was fine, very short, but I received what was needed. A routine appointment with the nurse was also quite ok. If you have a choice I would consider going elsewhere, go and meet the reception staff and choose wisely. Noone needs additional stress from reception staff where health difficulties are concerned.
